Now that EmuVR is released, there are a few questions people may have about the game and plans for the future. We've compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions here, as well as a list of some of the most common feature requests suggested by players.

Having an issue with EmuVR but don't see anything about it here? Make sure to check out Troubleshooting as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I play with friends?

Netplay isn't currently implemented. Some Retroarch Cores have rudimentary multiplayer support, but this is untested.

When will this come to <Oculus Go/Quest/PSVR/Android>?

Never. EmuVR relies on technology not compatible with systems other than Windows.

What about if I use something like Riftcat or Trinus?

You can try, however such workarounds are not supported. If you attempt to use these programs to make a DIY HMD, you're on your own.

EmuVR only supports Rift, Vive, WMR devices, and 2d gameplay. Support is not provided for any other device or workaround.

EmuVR isn't working properly!

Be sure to read Troubleshooting, and that you followed the Installation Guide fully.

What can I play with this? Where's the <PS2/PS3/Xbox/Switch>?

EmuVR is theoretically compatible with any core that Retroarch supports. There are a few known issues, but most libretro cores should work just fine.

There is no support for emulators and programs outside of Retroarch.

Where are the controllers? How do I play a game?

There aren't any 3d models made for controllers just yet. Check out How To Play for a walkthrough on how to get started!

How do I save the layout of my room?

At this point, you can't. Saving the layout of your room is planned for the future, though.

Where can I find games or the bios file?

We aren't able to tell you where you can obtain roms or bios files, as this is against the law. It is also against our rules to ask in the Discord server.

Just to reiterate- DO NOT ASK WHERE TO DOWNLOAD ROMS/BIOS FILES.

Why is the game so slow?

The first thing to check is how many roms you've added. EmuVR creates a 3d cartridge for each game, as well as a label texture that takes up space in VRAM. Too many roms will choke your system until the game dies.

Common Feature Requests

These are feature requests that are frequently asked for in Discord. While the developer does read every request, it's worth checking if your request is on this list as it may have already been suggested. Note that a request being on this list or asked for in Discord does not mean it is going to be added, however the developer has many plans for the future of EmuVR that may align with some requests made.
